The dates are set for Oktoberfest.  The 14th Annual is set to take place on Saturday September 29th, and Sunday September 30th, 2018.  Balboa Pier continues to be our host location in Newport Beach, California. 

In what is normally the final stop of the United Skim Tour, professional men and women do battle to see who will end up the World Champion of skimboarding.

Oktoberfest has grown into the premiere skimboarding event of the year.  We host the most competitors in the world.  The most diverse group of skim boarders will diverge on the beach to compete.  With the help of Main Street Surf Shop, we've attracted a grip of sponsors to make these a world class event.  

Conditions at Balboa Pier have truly lived up to expectations in the past.  A stone's throw from the world famous Wedge, the Pier itself hosts world class skimboarding conditions.  The infamous pier wraps, and liners that Balboa offers help to fine tune locals skills.  It's truly one of the few events in the world where local knowledge comes into play.  Reading waves and knowing how the pocket will move is no easy task here, but years of experience help.
