History Made in Sununga
The 2013 United Skim Tour kicked off with a historical bang down in Ubatuba at Sununga Beach in Brazil. Twenty seven professionals entered the event but almost as if out of a script, it came down to man on man semi-finals. Sam Stinnett would compete head to head against Renato Lima, and Blair Conklin would compete against Leandro Azevedo. Tensions were high on the beach as the large Brazilian crowd wanted to see the local favorites beat the top ranked riders, and they put on one heck of a show.
In the end Blair and Sam would stand alone in the man to man history making final. With quite possibly the best conditions in competitive skimboarding history with the highest level of riding ever seen, Sam Stinnett took the crown at the first UST event of the year and an early lead to the race to the World Championship. Congratulations to all our riders that made it out and shared in the stoke and celebration of this event.
