Extra Large Pro Shape 3/4" Tapered to 5/8" S-Glass Epoxy Skimboard

$599.00

Description

Pro Shape

The Pro Shape is longer and narrower, especially through the nose and on larger sizes. This makes the board extremely fast down the line or face of the wave, but requires a more advanced rider to be able to maximize this feature the most. Excellent for liners and sidewash conditions. The preferred shape of World Champion Sam Stinnett and other elite Exile team riders.

Dimensions

55.10” x 21.35” 190+ lbs.

S-Glass Epoxy Construction

S-Glass stands for structural fiberglass. It is 30% stronger than regular fiberglass and about 15% stiffer. It also costs more than twice as much! But when you are buying a high end board it is important to pay a little extra for the things that will make it last. Our S-glass skimboards have multiple layers of S-glass on each side. This makes the board significantly stronger than a regular fiberglass board, and a little bit stiffer too.

3/4" Tapered to 5/8" Thickness

3/4'' Tapered to 5/8'' thickness means that the center of the core is 3/4'' thick and thins out to 5/8'' (roughly) in the nose and tail. This creates added buoyancy while keeping the board maneuverable, just not quite as responsive as the 5/8''. This thickness is typically more ideal for slight below average to slightly above average wave height and strength.

Sam Rocker

This rocker was developed by Sam Stinnett to incorporate more rocker in the nose and tail (approx. 2.5" in the nose), and reduce the footprint of the flat spot on the bottom of the board. This creates a board that turns on a dime in even the largest conditions. It does slightly slow the board down when planing, but if you run as fast as Sam does, that shouldn't hinder you.

Textured Finish

Light, Strong, Durable, and preferred by riders who put more emphasis on performance than cosmetics. This is the finish the company was built on, and the golden standard which others imitate. Some sanding required for proper traction adhesion.
